The President of the Republic thanked the Ambassador of China24.07.2003
The Ambassador of China, Cong Jun, today at Paslepa paid a farewell call on President Arnold Rüütel who thanked the Ambassador for her great contribution to the promotion of cooperation between the Republic of Estonia and the Peoples Republic of China.
The President of the Republic noted that we had every reason to be delighted at the progress of bilateral relations between Estonia and China: so, over the last years, more mutual visits had taken place and interagency cooperation had become closer.
President Rüütel thanked Mrs. Cong Jun for having acquainted the Estonians with China and the Chinese with Estonia. The President of the Republic highlighted also Ambassador Cong Juns merits in bringing to Estonian higher education establishments Chinese youth who, in this way, had become directly linked to Estonia.
In recognition of her services, President Rüütel conferred on the Ambassador the 1st Class Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana.
