The President of the Republic to meet the President of the International Paneuropean Union

On June 12, Otto von Habsburg, President of the International Paneuropean Union, at the invitation of the President of the Republic will arrive in Estonia.

On Thursday, Otto von Habsburg in Tartu will meet with members of the Estonian Paneuropean Union and Jaak Aaviksoo, Rector of the University of Tartu. At 13:15 pm at the University of Tartu, he will deliver a lecture entitled "The Paneuropean Movement and the European Union". Subsequent to the lecture, he will have luncheon with the Mayor of Tartu.

In the evening, the President of the Republic will host a dinner in honour of Otto von Habsburg.

On June 13, Otto von Habsburg will meet Prime Minister Juhan Parts and Chairwoman of the Riigikogu Ene Ergma. Thereafter, Otto von Habsburg meeting with Members of the Estonian Academy of Sciences at Kadriorg, will give a speech on the developments in the European Union.

On the same day, Otto von Habsburg is going to visit Lahemaa National Park and attend a reception on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the President's Roundtable on National Minorities at the Sakala Centre.

Otto von Habsburg, the eldest son of the last Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary, was born 1912 in Austria. He has been President of the International Paneuropean Union since 1973. Otto von Habsburg was elected to the European Parliament already in its first election, in 1979, and was the Parliament's Member for four terms. Otto von Habsburg has written more than 40 books and held lectures across Europe.
