The President of the Republic to take part in the Commemoration of the Jubilee of Saint Birgitta in Sweden29.05.2003
President Rüütel on 1 June will participate in the commemoration of the 700th birthday of Saint Birgitta in Sweden. The President of the Republic will attend the inauguration of the Sancta Birgitta Convent Museum and the Jubilee High Mass in Klosterkyrkan.
The commemoration will be attended also by the Swedish Royal Couple, Finnish President Tarja Halonen, Latvian President Vaira-Vike Freiberga, Representatives of the Danish and Norwegian Royal Dynasties, and the Lithuanian Foreign Minister.
Saint Birgitta is a patron of Sweden and her jubilee for Sweden is at once a national and an international event, on the occasion of which many happenings, exhibitions, film performances, concerts and conferences will take place.
