The President of the Republic opened the Gymnasium of Häädemeeste

President Rüütel visited the Kindergarten-Primary School of Tahkuranna This afternoon, President Arnold Rüütel on his tour of Pärnumaa opened the Gymnasium of the Rural Municipality of Häädemeeste. The President of the Republic in his address called for attaching importance to physical culture and sports - being a part of culture too, and thus to help Estonia to have more sportsmen like Talts and Veerpalu.

In the morning, the Sports Centre of Häädemeeste will be at the disposal of local pupils, in the second half of the day, training groups are going to exercise in the new hall, and also residents of the municipality can use it free of charge. The new sports centre was financed by the state and local entrepreneurs.

Thereafter, President Rüütel visited the Kindergarten-Primary School of Tahkuranna that has worked approximately for a year. The President was impressed by the modern school and its atmosphere most caring for children. The President commended the local government of Häädemeeste for valuing education, which, in his words, was exemplified by both the Kindergarten-Primary School of Tahkuranna and the new Gymnasium of Häädemeeste.

This morning, before visiting Häädemeeste, the President had familiarized himself with the Public Limited Company Weiss and praised the company's progressive farming and gardening methods.
