The President of the Republic met with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The President of the Republic met with the Ambassador of Bosnia and HerzegovinaPresident Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the credentials of the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs Dr Mediha Filipovic.

At their meeting, President Rüütel said that Estonia understood and welcomed the efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina to continue reforms and to integrate into Europe. He also assured that Estonia valued highly the West Balkan policy of the European Union intensified during the Greek Presidency, which helped to accelerate the European integration and economic development both in the region as a whole and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The bilateral relations between the two countries were under discussion too. "So far, economic relations, cultural and tourism contacts between our countries have been modest and we should think together about their all-out expansion," the Estonian Head of State noted.

According to the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, her country admired Estonia’s rapid progress and successful process of acceding to the European Union. She voiced hope that Estonia agreed to share its relevant experience and the cooperation between the two countries became productive.
