The President of the Republic met with the Prime Minister14.05.2003
President Arnold Rüütel today had one of his regular, customary lunches with Prime Minister Juhan Parts. Their discussion focussed on how to advise the Estonian public of the European Union affairs and to coordinate more effectively the dissemination of relevant information. The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister shared the view that Estonias population should be given adequate and objective information on the issues connected with the European Union. They also broached support schemes for young families and their implications for the supplementary budget. In addition, the interlocutors touched upon social issues and upcoming external visits.
President Rüütel, Prime Minister Parts and Chairwoman of the Riigikogu Ergma will meet on Monday, 19 May, to discuss how to inform the Estonian public of the European Union affairs.
