The President's Cultural Foundation's competition is coming to its end

May 5 is the deadline for the nomination of candidates for the Young Artist Prize, which was announced by the President's Cultural Foundation in early April of this year.

The prize is awarded to Estonian artists up to the age of 35 years, whose artistic achievements have been widely recognized, or whose artistic work and activities have considerably helped to make Estonia and its culture known in the world.

Candidates may be nominated by applicants themselves, their supervisors, teachers, employers etc., and also by the Members of the Board of the Cultural Foundation. The candidates have to submit a written application with personal particulars and a brief CV (name, address, education, occupational experience); description of creative activities; references from at least two recognized artists or one artistic association and one recognized artist. All documents concerning applications for the prize are to be sent to the President's Cultural Foundation (Weizenbergi 39, 15050 Tallinn) not later than 5 May 2003.

The prize to the amount of 40 000 Estonian kroons is awarded once a year, in spring, and is funded by Toomas Luman, Member of the Board of the Cultural Foundation.
