The President of the Republic to make a visit to the County of Rapla

President Arnold Rüütel and Mrs Ingrid Rüütel this Wednesday and Thursday will make a working visit to the County of Rapla.

On the first day of the tour, the Head of State will familiarize himself with the Tallinn-Riga development corridor passing through the county. The President will visit enterprises at Kohila, Rapla and Kehtna, as well as the Basic Schools of Hagudi and Käru. Mrs Rüütel at the same time will be given an overview of life-long learning at Kohila Training Centre and of amateur art activities at Rapla. From Kohila to Hagudi the President and Mrs Rüütel will travel by train. In the evening, they are going to attend a village party at the clubhouse of Valtu.

The second day of the working visit will be spent looking into problems of enterprises and local government in the area of Märjamaa. The town of Märjamaa and the rural municipalities of Märjamaa and Loodna recently united to form a single local government unit.

Mrs Rüütel will meet with members of the village societies of Varbola and Russalu and visit the community centre of Märjamaa and the home farmstead of actress Anne Reemann.

By midday the President will arrive in the rural municipality of Vigala to familiarize himself with a Green Energy Project and the local school of technology and service there. At the Sillaotsa Farm Museum the Head of State, in addition to seeing the museum display, will be informed of the problems of local small museums and tourism promotion in rural areas as well as participate in baking of bread. In the evening, the President will visit a school of the Defence League at the Manor of Alu.
