The President of the Republic received credentials

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs Loria MarkidesPresident Arnold Rüütel today at noon at Kadriorg received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs Loria Markides, and, thereafter, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Nepal, Mr Lila Prasad Sharma, who presented to the Estonian Head of State their credentials.

President Rüütel speaking about the relations between Estonia and Cyprus highlighted our diversified co-operation that over the last years has made great strides. He expressed his confidence: "It is both possible and necessary to further economic relations and cultural contacts between our two countries. I am confident that in the years ahead Estonia and Cyprus, as good partners in co-operation, will have many opportunities to support each other in a friendly way and to work together in the interests of the whole of Europe."

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Nepal, Mr Lila Prasad Sharma and the President Arnold RüütelReceiving the credentials from the Ambassador of Nepal, the Estonian Head of State noted that Estonia and Nepal were just laying the foundation of their relations. The President placed hope on the Ambassador's personal contribution to the development of our bilateral relations and international co-operation.
