The President of the Republic acknowledged the most capable home decorators

The President of the Republic and Mrs Ingrid Rüütel today were at Avinurme where the Head of State acknowledged this year's most capable home decorators.

President Rüütel being the patron of the home decoration movement this afternoon at Avinurme Cultural Centre handed to the winners of the contest "Kaunis Kodu" (Beautiful Home) certificates of honour and symbolic keys made of copper. From homes, public buildings, hamlets and centres having participated in the contest 76 most beautiful had been chosen by the Estonian Home Decoration Association. In the framework of the contest "Kaunis Kodu", which this year took place for the fifth time, 359 prizes have been awarded so far. In his speech, the Head of State said that the far-reaching goal of the home decoration movement should be a more beautiful environment of life. While shaping it together, the whole society would change.

After the presentation of prizes, the President of the Republic planted an oak tree in front of the cultural centre. In addition, the President and Mrs Ingrid Rüütel made a little tour of the village of Avinurme.
