The President of the Republic will entertain the President of Latvia in Saaremaa

On Monday, August 5, in Saaremaa the President of the Republic and Mrs Ingrid Rüütel will meet the President of the Republic of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, arriving there with a working visit accompanied by her husband Imants Freibergs.

In the afternoon, an official meeting of the Presidents will take place at Kuressaare. Thereafter, the Mayor of Kuressaare, Jaanus Tamkivi, will welcome the guests at the town hall. The Presidents are going to visit the Bishop's Castle of Kuressaare and the headquarters of the Vilsandi National Park at the Manor of Loona. In the eating house of Lümanda, the Governor of the Saare County will host a dinner for the Presidents.

On Tuesday, August 6, it is planned to visit the church and the stronghold at Kaarma, and to see the Kaali Crater Lake and the village museum of Koguva.The President and Mrs Ingrid Rüütel will host a dinner in honour of the guests at the Manor of Pädaste. In the afternoon, they will visit the St Catherine's Church and an ostrich farm on the island of Muhu. In the evening, the Heads of State with their entourage will attend the opening concert of the Kuressaare Chamber Music Festival. Mayor Jaanus Tamkivi will hold a reception in honour of the Presidents.

Wednesday morning, the presidential couples will visit the Port of Roomassaare and cruise the Bay of Kuressaare. At noon, the President of Latvia will leave Saaremaa.
