The President of the Republic will go to Riga03.07.2002
President Arnold Rüütel Thursday morning will leave for Riga where, on July 4-5, a Summit of the NATO Aspirant Countries is going to take place.
In the afternoon of Thursday, July 4, the Presidents of the Baltic States: Vaira Vike-Freiberga, Valdas Adamkus, and Arnold Rüütel, will meet at the Presidential Palace of Riga. Thereafter, the Baltic Heads of State will meet with a delegation of the US Senate. The main subject of these meetings will be the preparedness of the Baltic States for the NATO membership.
In the evening, the Presidents of the Baltic States and the delegations participating in the summit will attend the Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony.
Friday morning, on July 5, President Arnold Rüütel will meet with the President of Poland, Aleksander Kwasniewski.
