A new Chef de protocole will take up his post at the Office of the President

On June 25, Andrei Birov will take up the post of Chef de protocole at the Office of the President.

Andrei Birov, born 1958, has graduated from the Moscow State University and is a Candidate of Philosophy.

In 1989 Andrei Birov took up his appointment as Press Attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Estonian Government in Moscow. He worked at the Estonian Embassy in Moscow until 1993, and thereafter, until 1995, continued his work as Minister-Counsellor in Kiev. In the years 1997-2001, Mr Birov hold the post of Estonian Chargé d'Affaires to China and, since last December, has been working as the Director of the Division of Ceremonies and Visits at the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The present Chef de protocole, Piret Saluri, who has been working at the Office of the President since 1995, will resign on June 24.
