The President of the Republic to visit Helsinki05.06.2002
President Arnold Rüütel on Thursday, before noon, will go to Helsinki where he will be given an honorary doctorate by the University of Helsinki.
Thursday afternoon, the Estonian Head of State will meet with the President of the Republic of Finland, Tarja Halonen.
The ceremony, at which the President will be given the doctorate by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of the University of Helsinki, will begin at 10.00 am on Friday, in the assembly hall of the University of Helsinki. Subsequently, a divine service in the Cathedral of Helsinki and a festive dinner at the National Opera will take place.
