The President of the Republic handed over an enterprise award03.06.2002
 President Arnold Rüütel this afternoon at Lillepaviljon presented the Silmet Ltd. with the award for the winner of "The Enterprise Award 2001" contest. The President is the patron of the contest that this year took place for the second time.
Addressing the most successful Estonian entrepreneurs, the President said that the award earned meant both recognition and responsibility for the development of their region and of the whole country. "The Estonian Enterprise Award stands for a great credit. The example of those having earned the award encourages also other entrepreneurs, both the present ones and those to be. In this context, the enterprise award is in a way an investment in the future," the Head of State said and continued: "The enterprise award is tantamount to a great responsibility. We take the recipient of the award as an example saying by that: this is just the kind of Estonia we want to have, that's the way we are building us a better future."
Having in mind the future of Estonia, the President expressed hope that year after year the selection of the award-winners became harder since there would be ever more candidates worth of serving as an example.
