Mrs Ingrid Rüütel is the patron of the Arno-Teele Competition13.05.2002
Mrs Ingrid Rüütel late this afternoon attended the closing event of the Arno Tali Foundation's competition for scholarships at the Theatre Ugala of Viljandi, where the best high-school graduates received Arno-Teele scholarships. Ingrid Rüütel also agreed to be the patron of the Arno Tali Foundation.
In her welcoming words, Mrs Rüütel expressed her delight that the foundation was supporting ambitious young people striving for higher education, but added that everyone had to struggle himself to attain one's prosperous future. "Per aspera ad astra," Mrs Rüütel addressed the fresh scholarship holders.
This year the Arno Tali Foundation issued Arno-Teele scholarships to high school graduates for the eight time. This time, 50 applications were submitted, 36 of which were granted. The scales were tipped by progress at school and extracurricular achievements of the applicants, as well as by per capita income in their families. The scholarship equals to 2000 Estonian kroons.
