The President of the Republic opened the training project "Watch the World"24.04.2002
President Arnold Rüütel, who is the patron of the project "Watch the World", opened the training project of the same name this morning at the National Library.
The President said in his opening words that he was pleased to observe that Estonia's private sector was ever more willing to take part in meeting social challenges which concern our state in its entirety.
The Foundation Watch the World is intending, in the framework of their project, to teach 100 000 persons basic computer and Internet skills within the next two years. The training constitutes a cycle of eight lessons and every successful participant will be given a relevant certificate at the end of it. The training is meant for all interested persons and will start with a pilot project in the counties of Pärnu and Ida-Viru this week.
