The President of the Republic met with the Prime Minister13.03.2002
President Arnold Rüütel hosted a traditional Wednesday-lunch for Prime Minister Siim Kallas at Kadriorg today.
The Prime Minister informed the President about his meetings with Members of the European Commission in Brussels and Finnish leaders of state in Helsinki. The Head of State and the Prime Minister talked about possibilities to use supports from the European Union for combining conservation of the countryside with production of organic food. Another subject of discussion was development of the energy sector, in which context the President recognized Government's efforts to gradually open up the market, while keeping it under efficient state control, and to slow down the rise in the price of electricity.
