The President of the Republic congratulated Andres Veerpalu23.02.2002
As soon as the medallists of 50 km cross-country skiing for men were certain, President Arnold Rüütel phoned Salt Lake City to congratulate Andrus Veerpalu who had won the bronze. The Head of State asked how the athlete was feeling and wished him to return happily home. The President recognized highly all the Estonian athletes for their great performance at the winter Olympics.
The President of the Republic is intending to invite the best Estonian cross-country skiers and their coaches to Kadriorg soon, to thank them for the great victories of the current skiing season.
