Congratulations to the President of the Republic25.02.2002
Congratulations on the occasion of the 84th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia have been extended to President Arnold Rüütel by the President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, the President of the French Republic, Jacques Chirac, the President of the Republic of Poland, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johannes Rau, the President of the Republic of Austria, Thomas Klestil, and the President of the Swiss Confederation, Kaspar Villiger.
Congratulations on the Independence Day of Estonia also have been sent by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Portuguese Republic, Jorge Sampaio, the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Beriz Belkic, the President of the United States of Mexico, Vicente Fox Quesada, the President of the Republic of Korea, Kim Dae-jung, the President of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh, A Q M Badruddoza Chowdhury, and the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megavati Soekarno Putri.
The President of the Republic of Finland, Tarja Halonen, the President of the Republic of Ukraine, Leonid Kutšma, the President of the Republic of Italy, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, the President of the Republic of Iceland, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman, the President of the Republic of Peru, Alejandro Toledo, and the President of the Democratic People`s Republic of Algeria, Abdelaziz Bouteflika have sent to President Rüütel their congratulations as well.
Estonia has been congratulated on its National Day also by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, King Albert II of Belgium, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, King Mohammed VI of Morocco and King Abdullah II of Jordan.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi A. Annan, and Pope John Paul II have sent their congratulations as well.
The Head of State has received congratulations on the occasion of the Independence Day also from numerous inhabitants and establishments of Estonia.
