The President of the Republic conferred decorations04.02.2002
The President of the Republic at Kadriorg tonight signed the resolution to confer, on the occasion of the 84th Anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, decorations on 400 persons both from Estonia and from abroad in recognition of their services to the country and the people.
The Head of State notes in his resolution that the Republic of Estonia, celebrating its Independence Day, thanks scientists, artists, civil servants, environmentalists, patriots, those who maintained the continuity of the state, freedom fighters and those from many other spheres of life who, by their activities, have strengthened the Estonian statehood. The Republic of Estonia also thanks our supporters from all over the world.
The Republic of Estonia pays special tribute to the Members of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Estonia who, in August 1991, voted for the restoration of Estonia's independence, to the then Members of the Government and to those who reinstated our local governments.
