The President of the Republic will go for a working visit

Today the President of the Republic will start his working visit to Latvia and Lithuania. Today afternoon, a meeting of the Presidents of the three Baltic States will take place in Riga. President Rüütel will also meet the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus in Riga tonight.

Tomorrow forenoon, during a working breakfast President Rüütel will have talks with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Indulis Bērzinš, thereafter visit the Estonian School of Riga and meet the Chairman of the Saeima, Jānis Straume.

At noon, a meeting of our Head of State with the President of the Republic of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freiberga will take place. In the afternoon, President Rüütel will have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Latvia, Andris Bērzinš. During the meetings, the talking points will be the Baltic co-operation and the accession to NATO and the European Union.

Tomorrow evening, the Head of State will leave Riga for Vilnius to continue his working visit on Thursday in Lithuania where he will have talks with the Chairman of the Seim, Artūras Paulauskas, with members of the Lithuanian delegation to the Baltic Assembly and thereafter with the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Algirdas Brazauskas.

Thursday evening, the Head of State will meet local Estonians at the Estonian Embassy in Vilnius. The same night President Rüütel will return to Tallinn.
