The President of the Republic handed over aiguillettes and certificates to the superior and senior officers of Estonia14.11.2001
 The President of the Republic Arnold Rüütel today handed over certificates and aiguillettes to the seven officers of Estonia who have completed the general staff training courses and the staff officers' training courses in Finland, Germany, the United States of America and Sweden after the restoration of the Estonian defence forces.
Rear Admiral Tarmo Kõuts, Major General Ants Laaneots, Colonel Urmas Roosimägi, Lieutenant Colonel Aarne Ermus, Major Peep Tambets, Major Kajari Klettenberg and Captain Benno Leesik received the certificates and the aiguillettes. All in all, 17 Estonian officers have completed the general staff training courses and the training courses for staff officers.
The President of the Republic congratulated the officers and wished them success in their future service. Rear Admiral Tarmo Kõuts, the Commander of the Defence Forces, spoke in the name of the officers and emphasised the importance of the considerable assistance from Finland in building up the national defence of Estonia.
Also Admiral Juhani Kaskeala, the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, who is on an official visit to Estonia, attended the ceremony. The President of the Republic hosted a dinner in honour of Admiral Kaskeala.
