The President of the Republic will open the seminar of the Roundtable of National Minorities

The President of the Republic's Roundtable of National minorities will hold a seminar at the Sakala Centre tomorrow, on November 15; the seminar will be opened by the President of the Republic Arnold Rüütel.

On the seminar, Mikhail Stalnukhin, Member of the Riigikogu, will make a presentation on the legislation concerning national minorities; and the sociologist Klara Hallik will deliver a paper on the understanding and development of the problems of national minorities in Estonia after 1991; leaders of cultural societies of national minorities Lydia Kõlvart and Jaak Prozes will speak of the development possibilities of the co-operation of the cultural societies of the national minorities and the Roundtable.

The presentations delivered in the afternoon will focus on the integration programme of Tallinn, which is currently under preparation; there will also be a discussion of the above programme in four working-groups, which will concentrate on the socio-economic, educational and political aspects of the programme, as well as on the role of the public servants and the third sector in the implementation of the programme.
