The President of the Republic met with the Ambassador of Ukraine05.11.2001
President Arnold Rüütel met with the Ambassador of Ukraine Mr Mykola Makarevich at Kadriorg today.
Relations between the two countries were dicussed at the meeting as well as the summit of the heads of states of Central, East and Southeast Europe that will be held in Warsaw tomorrow at the invitation of the President of Poland Mr Aleksander Kwasniewski for the co-ordinatin of activities in the fight for international terrorism.
The Ambassador of Ukraine also thanked Estonia for the exchange of experience, organisation of workshops and provision of advice in the development of co-operation with the European Union.
President Rüütel acknowledged the Ukrainian community in Estonia that has supported Estonia since the first years of restoration of independence.
