The President of the Republic met with the business leaders of Estonia02.11.2001
President Arnold Rüütel had a meeting with the business leaders of Estonia at Kadriorg today. The President of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr Toomas Luman, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AS NG Investeeringud Mr Jüri Käo, Chairman of the Management Board of AS Standard Mr Enn Veskimägi, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AS Pakterminal Mr Aadu Luukas, Chairman of the Management Board of AS Hansapank Mr Indrek Neivelt, Chairman of the Management Board of AS ESS Grupp/Falck Baltics Mr Urmas Sõõrumaa had been invited to Kadriorg.
Economic situations in Estonia and in the world were talked about. The main attention was focused on employment problems in Estonia, particularly in the peripheries. Economic co-operation of Estonia both in the direction of the East and the West and the need to give recognition to companies that have created jobs most of all were also talked about. It was agreed to continue the working meetings of the President of the Republic with representatives of the business community also in the future.
