The President of the Republic had a meeting with the Minister of Finance18.10.2001
President Arnold Rüütel received Siim Kallas, the Chairman of the Reform Party and Minister of Finance, at Kadriorg today and invited him to lunch.
On the meeting, the implementation of this years budget was discussed, as well as the drafting of the budget for the year 2002 and the impact of world economy on Estonias economy. Also political developments in Estonia were addressed.
On the meeting with the Minister of Finance, the President spoke of his concern with youth problems, and emphasised that means should be sought for solving them. It was agreed that the issue would be reverted to.
During his first weeks of presidency, President Arnold Rüütel intends to meet the leaders of all the political parties of Estonia.
