10.10.2001

The President of the Republic had a meeting with Toomas Hendrik Ilves, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Kadriorg this afternoon in order to discuss the key issues of foreign policy. The Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed that proceeding from the logic of the terrorist attacks and their behaviour so far, the probability that Estonia could fall victim to acts of terrorism is low.

President Arnold Rüütel and the Minister of Foreign Affairs also discussed the more important visits abroad to be paid in the following months. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also extended to the President an invitation to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the near future in order to get a closer view of the Ministry’s work and to ensure the continuation of smooth co-operation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the President of the Republic.
