The President of the Republic met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan

President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tleukhan Kabdrakhmanov who presented his Letter of Credentials.

In the words of the President of the Republic Estonia wishes to intensify its relations with Kazakhstan. ''Herewith I would like to stress the importance of economic cooperation, where there is still a lot more opportunities for further development,'' the Head of State said.

President Rüütel added that Kazakhstan's geographical location offers a good opportunity to actively participate in managing transit and trade of the region. ''Also Estonia's geographical location offers the same advantages. Estonia is one of the transit channels through which Kazakhstan's goods reach the European Union, and vice versa - a transit channel through which goods from Europe reach Kazakhstan. We are very much interested in continuing and broadening such cooperation,'' the President of the Republic said.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan expressed conviction that Kazakh-Estonian cooperation had considerable potential, and Kazakhstan would be ready for further expansion of bilateral relations in the field of trade, industry, financial services, transport and information technology, as well as in culture and education.
