The President of the Republic visited Tähtvere municipality

President Rüütel today visited Tähtvere municipality where he participated in the opening of a Green Classroom, visited local nature study trails and was awarded the badge of honorary citizen of Tähtvere municipality.

In Ilmatsalu Basic School the President of the Republic met with the mayor of Tähtvere municipality Rein Kokk and the chairman of Tähtvere local government council Urmas Tartes who introduced a new outdoors classroom, which has a bird watching tower and nature study trails. After that the chairman of Tähtvere local government council handed over to President Rüütel the certificate and the badge of honorary citizen.

The Head of State thanked Tähtvere municipality for the recognition bestowed on him and spoke warmly about the time he worked in that region. In the words of President Rüütel he is very pleased to see that Tähtvere municipality values nature conservation and has opened excellent nature study trails that can be used not only by local people but also by visitors from elsewhere in Estonia.
