The President of the Republic met with the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil

President Rüütel received the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Sergio Gama Figueira, who presented his Letters of Credential.President Rüütel today at Kadriorg received the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Sergio Gama Figueira, who presented his Letters of Credential.

In the words of the President of the Republic bilateral relations between Estonia and Brazil are good, but there is still space for further development. ''Estonia's accession to the European Union and NATO has broadened the scope of our international ties and has enlivened our relations also with more distant countries. Intensive and diversified cooperation between the EU and Brazil certainly provides a good base also for deepening Estonian-Brazilian bilateral relations. Estonia is open to mutually interesting cooperation projects,'' President Rüütel said.

In the words of the Ambassador, the Brazilian Government and people greatly value the relationship with Estonia, and Estonia has been over the years not only a friend, but also a partner that has contributed to the economic development and social progress of Brazil.
