The President of the Republic met with the delegation of the Moldovan Chamber of Auditors03.02.2006
 President Arnold Rüütel today at Kadriorg received a delegation of the Moldovan Chamber of Auditors comprising of Ala Popescu, President of the Chamber of Auditors, Gheorghe Cojocari, a member of the Chamber of Auditors and Lidia Tomozei, Head of the Department of International Cooperation. The Estonian Auditor General, Mihkel Oviir, was also present at the meeting.
The president of the Moldovan Chamber of Auditors thanked Estonia for cooperation and added that the idea for it was born during the visit of the Moldovan President to Estonia last autumn. Mrs. Popescu gave an overview of the principles that the Moldovan Chamber of Auditors follows in its activities and the aims of the delegation’s visit to Estonia.
The President of the Republic expressed his gratification at the establishment of this cooperation, as State Audit is an area, which carries large responsibility, especially in transition societies. President Rüütel added that Estonia wishes to help the Republic of Moldova in every respect in democratisation and modernisation of society, and is ready to share its experience in order to facilitate Moldova's closer integration into the European Union and NATO.
