The President of the Republic met with Chinese Premier25.08.2005
Today, during the state visit, President Arnold Rüütel met in Beijing with the Premier of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao.
During the meeting both parties expressed their satisfaction that Estonia and China have good and fast-developing relations. Premier Wen stated that despite differences in size, Estonia and China are equal partners on the international arena. "The fact that Estonia has joined the European Union facilitates the development of relations with China," said Premier. He acknowledged also the high level of development among Estonian ports and in the agricultural sector.
The President of the Republic of Estonia stated that China is an important economic partner for Estonia and in her relations with China Estonia hopes to realize to the utmost her favourable preconditions in the field of transit trade as well as her achievements concerning IT activities.
