The President's Cultural Foundation awarded a prize

The Board of the President's Cultural Foundation decided to give this year's Young Artist Prize to Anu Tali.

Anu Tali, founder and conductor of the Estonian-Finnish Symphony Orchestra, was awarded the prize for propagating Estonian Music across the world and propagating cultures of various peoples in Estonia. The Board of the President's Cultural Foundation highlighted Anu Tali's work in organising international cooperation among young musicians.

Since 1997, Anu Tali has produced six singular concert series, such as "Maailma muusikalised pealinnad" (Musical Capitals of the World), "Inimene" (The Man), "Sümfoonia", "Musica Grande", "Kirg või kannatus" (Passion or Suffering) and this year's "A la Russe".

In 2003, Anu Tali received the Echo Classic Award for an album containing symphonic music of Veljo Tormis, at present a new album with works of Erkki-Sven Tüür is under preparation. The Estonian-Finnish Symphony Orchestra will begin the new season with a cycle of concerts entitled "Põhja nägu" (The Face of the North) presenting culture and music of the Nordic Countries.

The President of the Republic is going to present Anu Tali with the prize in June.
