The President's Cultural Foundation to decide the winner of the Young Scientist Prize
Tomorrow, on October 31, the Board of the President's Cultural Foundation will decide the winner of the Young Scientist Prize 2003. In this year, the candidatures of 19 young scientists have been submitted for the prize.
As desired by Toomas Luman, the founder and financial backer of the Young Scientist and Young Artist Prizes, from the next year on the sum of both prizes will be increased to 50,000 kroons. At the tomorrow's meeting, Toomas Luman and Alar Ojalo, Director of the Cultural Foundation, will sign an additional protocol on increasing the prizes by 10,000 kroons as of the year 2004.
The Young Scientist Prize to the amount of 40,000 kroons and the Young Artist Prize amounting to the same sum were founded in the years 2000 and 2002 respectively in collaboration between Toomas Luman and the President's Cultural Foundation.
