The President of the Republic met with Villu Reiljan14.10.2003
President Arnold Rüütel at today's meeting with the Chairman of the People's Union, Villu Reiljan, discussed with him the conclusion of the National Agreement in the near future.
Villu Reiljan noted that 39 contracting parties in the run-up to the election had signed a memorandum of understanding on the conclusion of a national agreement, and the Peoples Union intended to honestly adhere to the memorandum. "It would not be fair to turn a document, so important in view of our national interests like the National Agreement, into an object of political short-sighted bickering," the Chairman of the People's Union said.
President Rüütel thanked the People's Union for supporting the process of concluding the National Agreement.
