PRELIMINARY NOTICE: The President of the Republic to make a state visit to Malta29.09.2003
President Arnold Rüütel and Mrs Ingrid Rüütel on 1 October will embark on a state visit to the Republic of Malta.
The official delegation accompanying the President will include the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, Meelis Atonen, the Minister of the Environment, Villu Reiljan, the State Secretary, Heiki Loot, the County Governor of Harjumaa, Orm Valtson, and others. The accompanying business delegation will be headed by the President of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Toomas Luman.
On 1 October, the Estonian Head of State at the Presidential Palace in Valletta is due to meet with the President of Malta, Guido de Marco, who, together with Mrs Violet de Marco, in the same evening will host a state dinner in honour of the guests. On the next day, President Rüütel will meet the Prime Minister of Malta, Edward Fenech Adami, and the opposition leader, Alfred Santi.
The President is also scheduled to attend a business seminar at the Chamber of Commerce of Malta, to visit the City of Mdina, the Malta Freeport, the Temple of Hypogeum and the Island of Gozo.
The Head of State will return to Tallinn in the evening of October 3.
