The President of the Republic met Estonian and Lithuanian entrepreneurs23.04.2003
President Arnold Rüütel today together with Lithuanian Head of State Rolandas Paksas greeted entrepreneurs participating in a meeting of the Estonian Business Association and Estonian Employers' Confederation with members of the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists.
President Rüütel underscored the importance of manifold cooperation between Estonia and Lithuania. "We are linked up by exchange of experience and realization of common projects," the Head of State assured. Using the examples of Via Baltica, Rail Baltica and Baltic Energy Circle, he highlighted the need to develop the infrastructure jointly.
President Paksas expressed delight at the active trade between Estonia and Lithuania and the growth of Estonian direct investments in Lithuania. The Lithuanian Head of State called on the entrepreneurs to use their accumulated experience for carrying out regional cooperative projects in the European Union.
Before meeting the entrepreneurs, the Presidents had attended the opening ceremony of a Lithuanian heraldry exhibition.
