The President of the Republic received the Ambassador of Bangladesh
03.04.2003

The President of the Republic received the Ambassador of BangladeshPresident Arnold Rüütel at noon today at Kadriorg met with the Ambassador of Bangladesh, Nazimullah Chowghuri, to receive his credentials.

The Estonian Head of State noted that the relations between Estonia and Bangladesh were just only beginning to burgeon, but our mutual interest was gathering pace in parallel with deepening knowledge of each other and contacts between us. The President deemed it necessary and possible to enliven our bilateral relations. He saw possibilities for that, first of all, in the field of tourism and trade.

The Ambassador agreed with the opinion of the Estonian Head of State and added that Bangladesh could have with Estonia just as lively trade relations as it already had with the Nordic Countries. The interlocutors shared the view that Estonian ports created good preconditions for trade and that, both sides, owing to diversified and untouched nature, had good prospects of developing ecotourism, which could enliven the movement of people between the two countries.
