This year's first meeting of the President's Roundtable of National Minorities19.03.2003
The President's Roundtable of National Minorities at its meeting on 18 March decided to mark the 10th anniversary of the roundtable at the end of May with a conference named "The Role and Status of National Minorities in Estonian Society". At the plenary session of the conference, talks on the subject of Estonian citizenship will be heard. In the following discussion circle, the representatives of all our larger political parties will be requested to take part.
The roundtable also analysed in detail the chances of dealing with the issues of national minorities within the framework of our national agreement.
Analysing the results of the parliamentary elections and the preliminary talks to form a new coalition, currently underway, the members of the roundtable found that it was crucial that the post of Minister of Population Affairs be continuously maintained in the Cabinet.
