The President of the Republic met with the Prime Minister of Lithuania14.01.2003
President Arnold Rüütel this afternoon at Kadriorg had a very friendly meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Algirdas Brazauskas, having arrived in Estonia in order to participate in a meeting of the Baltic Council of Ministers.
The Estonian Head of State and the Lithuanian Head of Government discussed the continuing co-operation between our two countries for the sake of the accession to the European Union and NATO. In addition, Algirdas Brazauskas informed Arnold Rüütel of the recent presidential election in Lithuania and its repercussions.
President Rüütel and Prime Minister Brazauskas have known each other quite well for a long time, which manifested itself also in the atmosphere of their conversation.
