The deadline of President's Cultural Foundation's Young Scientist Competition is expiring
26.09.2002

Monday, September 30, is the last day to submit to the President's Cultural Foundation proposals for awarding the Young Scientist Prize.

The Young Scientist Prize is awarded scientists of Estonian origin up to the age of 35 having doctor's degree and doing research work at either an Estonian or a foreign university or research institution. Candidates may be put up both by young scientists themselves and by their scientific supervisors; but also by their employers, members of the foundation's board and others. The prizewinner will be selected by the foundation's board that in the capacity of advisers may include scientists and teachers.

Candidates for the prize have to submit a written application with personal particulars and a brief CV, description of their research work, a list of their published relevant scientific works, and at least two references from their supervisors or teachers. The documents are to be sent to the President's Cultural Foundation at the address: Weizenbergi 39, 15050 Tallinn.

The Young Scientist Prize is funded by entrepreneur Toomas Luman in accordance with an agreement concluded in October 2000, under which the foundation awards the prize to the amount of 40 000 Estonian kroons once a year. Last year, the prize went to senior reseacher of the Institute for Pharmacology of the Tartu University, Doctor of Medicine Allen Kaasik.
