The President's Cultural Foundation awarded prizes

The Board of the President's Cultural Foundation today decided to give the Young Artist Prize founded by Toomas Luman to composer Tõnu Kõrvits, whose works have attracted great attention both in Estonia and abroad. From his recent works "Armastuse märk" (A Sign of Love), written for symphony orchestra, was highlighted. The prize equals to 40,000 Estonian kroons.

The Board also decided to give the 30,000 kroons prize of the Cultural Foundation to Krista Sildoja, a performer and promoter of folk music, teacher at the Viljandi Cultural College. She is also well-known as a lecturer and organizer of courses in the Nordic Countries, thus advocating co-operation with colleges and universities there.
