The President's Round Table of National Minorities discussed its action plan for 2002

The President's Round Table of National Minorities today at Kadriorg discussed its action plan for the year 2002. The members of the round table agreed to focus in their activities on discussions about financing the organisations of national minorities and on working out pertinent suggestions to the Riigikogu and the Government; on preparing their own vision of the concept and ideology of national minorities law, and on discussing thoroughly the bill concerning Sunday schools.

Next year in July, ten years will pass from the day the Round Table of National Minorities was formed by the President of the Republic. On this occasion, the round table intends to issue a collection of writings reflecting the history and activities of the round table, the situation of the national minorities in Estonia and other relevant topics.

At the meeting, also the principles of forming the round table's chamber of national minorities and the agenda of a session of the named chamber scheduled for June 8, Sakala Centre, were dealt with. Besides, the preparations for the autumn conference "Integration as a factor of internal security" were under discussion.
