The President of the Republic is going on a state visit to the Republic of Poland

President Arnold Rüütel and Mrs Ingrid Rüütel are going on a state visit to the Republic of Poland on 17 March. The President will be accompanied on the visit by the Minister of Economic Affairs Liina Tõnisson, Minister of Defence Sven Mikser, Secretary of State Aino Lepik von Wirén and Rector of the Tallinn Technical University Andres Keevallik. A representative business delegation will be led by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Toomas Luman.

The official welcoming ceremony will be held in front of the Presidential Palace of Poland on the morning of Monday, 18 March. It will be followed by meetings between the presidents and the delegations. After that the presidents will give a joint press conference.

The President will have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Poland, visit the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the building of the Parliament of Poland, where he will meet with the Marshal of the Senat and the Marshal of the Sejm. In the afternoon, the President of the Republic will give a lecture "Future of Poland and Estonia in the Baltic Sea Region" in the Warsaw Technical University. In the evening, the President of Poland will give a dinner in honour of the Head of State of Estonia.

On Tuesday, 19 March, the President will be in Bialystok, where he will meet the representatives of local authorities, visit the Bialystok Medical Academy, open a business seminar and visit the University of Bialystok. In the afternoon, the President will visit the Ponar-Narew Tractor Plant.

The President will leave Poland on the morning of Wednesday, 20 March to return to Tallinn.
