The President of the Republic had a meeting with Eerik-Juhan Truuväli18.10.2001
President Arnold Rüütel had a meeting with Professor Eerik-Juhan Truuväli, a scholar of law and the Prorector of the Law Institute, in order to discuss topical legal matters. On the meeting, special attention was given to the draft Courts Act, which is now processed in the Riigikogu, especially to the legal and political means for ensuring the independence of judges.
The President of the Republic and the Legal Chancellor emeritus agreed on close co-operation in the future.
